Socializing Outing

Today Suki and I went to the Fila Speciality that Tho'ag Tash Caucasians are invited to each year. Most of the Fila owners know the Tho'ag Tash Caucasians and have for over 10 years.

At the lunch break, two of the judges came over and asked if Suki was a Caucasian Ovcharka, I said yes. They asked if they could look at the standard in their book and compare it with Suki, I said sure! They both went over her and after wards said to all standing around, that according to what they read and understood, that Suki is close to perfect for the breed. They thanked me and went on to continue the Fila show.

Suki and the fila pups of 6 to 10 months were all playing together. She was a Lady in every way, except for playing with the pups,  at the show and a very good example of a well behaved, socialized Caucasian.  It was a good day and I enjoyed it, Suki just wanted to get home and to sleep, after a 200 mile total drive. ;) Kat

This is Sunday and today I took Karana Esquire to the Fila Speciality.  Karana had a fun time and was even a small part of the show. The show committee came over and asked me if Karana and myself, would walk along the divider of the ring and the outside, while each fila and owner walked by the section where we were, so they could judge if their fila was allowing a stranger and dog, to walk by them. All passed!

Karana and 3 Fila pups played out in the field and had a blast. Karana also had a good time with a little 2 year old boy.  When the little boy and his Mom walked over, Karana went up to him and nuddged his arm. He reached over and petted her then walked on. Later he had a ball that he was throwing around and tossed it to Karana. She went over to it and was nudding it with her nose and making it roll around. The little boy walked over to her and said mine, she looked at him and rolled it over to the side of him. He got it and sat on Moms lap and again tossed it to Karana. Karana started playing with the ball again and the boy got a look of surprise on his face. Mom told him that, You threw it to her so it is hers now. Everyone around just started laughing and Karana enjoyed the ball for about 5 minutes when we handed the ball back to the little boy.

Karana met lots of people today and took it all in stride. She made up with some people quickly and others had to wait for a bit for her to decide that they were OK. Everyone there was amazed that she is not yet 14 months old. They are all looking forward to next year and seeing how she looks at that time. ;) It was a very good weekend for us all! Tho'ag Tash Caucasians acted true to standard in every way. Keep smiling Kat
